Marcus Ware has been cooking since he was 13 years old.  When you're the son of a chef you tend to find your path in life while other kids are still testing boundaries and trying to fit in.  After conquering culinary school, the life-long Detroiter spent time in some of the city's most notable kitchens, including Selden Standard, London Chop House, Cliff Bell's, and, most recently, Takoi.  Meanwhile, Restaurateurs James & April Forbes were laying the groundwork for their anticipated new restaurant, Menagerie Lounge & Artistic Eatery.  They formed the blueprint, a throwback mix of polished food, live music, and local art.  They found the location, the historic Masonic Temple building in Downtown Pontiac.  They secured the final funding, partially via the tremendous work of Flagstar Bank's Pontiac revitalization grant program and The Great Lake's Women's Business Council micro loan efforts.  One more detail, the chef.  Make the wrong choice, and all the other work is in vain.  The eventually made the wise choice of Marcus Ware, who has developed Menagerie's modern southern-influenced menu.  Heavily sourced from local organic farm Belt Line, the menu will change with the seasons.  Menagerie is scheduled to open in the next couple months, so come get a sneak peak of what's in store at (revolver)...then become a regular up in Pontiac.
