Michael Barrera is the gentleman chef.  Talented, respected, hard-working, and humble.  Growing up in Saginaw, Michigan, home-cooked meals, along with his parents work ethic, would eventually guide him to a career in hospitality.  He attended culinary school in Philadelphia, then headed to Detroit to earn his chops.  A stint at Beverly Hills Grill led to the Executive Chef position at Birmingham's Streetside Seafood, where he packed the house for almost 5 years, amassing a loyal following.  He'd then move on to helm the kitchen at Birmingham's Townhouse Bistro.  A second location in Downtown Detroit would pave the way for Prime & Proper, a high-end modern steakhouse he helped develop and open.  He's just moved out on his own to pursue new culinary opportunities, the first of which was a very festive, and very successful Cinco de Mayo celebration with us, in Hamtramck.  We quickly decided to invite him back to showcase what he's more widely known for;  beautiful, thoughtful contemporary cuisine.  So, this time around, Chef B has created a spectacular modern menu, influenced by the various regions bordering the Mediterranean sea.  Come see what's possible when you respect the past and forge on to the future.
